Fees are usually 33 1/3% of a settlement; however, if a law suit is filed, they usually are 40%.

How does the insurance affect my personal injury case?

Generally without insurance it is very difficult to obtain a recovery. The extent of insurance available is often the maximum amount of your recovery.

Yes; however this is extremely difficult. Few individuals have sufficient financial ability to pay a judgment, or their money is not collectible.

What are the types of insurance involved in personal injury cases?

Accidents in the home are covered by homeowners insurance; automobile accidents are covered under auto insurance, and personal liability policies cover other claims.

In automobile cases there is also PIP insurance; medical payments insurance and uninsured motorist coverage. Each of these insurances pay for a different aspect of your case.

No. We recommend you to contact an attorney. Insurance companies may offer you a minimal amount of money in return for a release of your claims.

Why do I need to retain an attorney?

In personal injury litigation, it is very difficult to represent yourself. The law can be complicated, and the insurance companies are very experienced in handling claims. It is difficult to attempt to learn the law, be objective, and settle your own case.
